It’s Tea Party Time!

It’s Tea Party Time!

Here at Create with RNK, it’s Tea Party Week! We know you saw the giveaway of Hope Yoder’s Design CD on Facebook, so now it’s time for an amazing and simple vinyl project to make at home!

The first thing we did, was find some old crochet lace trimmed napkins to use. These are perfect to bring out that vintage vibe for the tea party! Next, Emily used Craft N Cut Software to design her royalty free images and text onto her designs. After cutting the designs out, we ironed the napkins to get any wrinkles out.

Finally, it’s time to press! We used Embellish’s Heat Transfer Vinyl and pressed twice to secure the design, then once again after cool peeling each piece. That’s all it took!

This simple design can be used for an amazing decor piece for your tea party! Customize them with your names, favorite Disney quotes, or even your favorite cup of tea!

It’s Gardening Week and we LOVE #diy projects! If you’re like us, we like to upcycle everything, and take all of our “scraps” to create something new! For us, our project cost was exactly $6! Our sweet office worker, Paula, made it all by hand!

First let’s talk about the materials you need:

  • 1 Yard of Oilcloth, or Paula used a tablecloth that she had around our house!

  • Strap of choice

Now, let’s talk tools:

  • Clips

  • Cosplay Purple Scissors

  • Quilters Select 60mm Rotary Cutter

  • Quilters Select 18″ x 24″ dual sided mat

  • Any Sewing Machine Will Do

11″ x 5″ (2) – sides

Step 2: Cut the hook and loop to 21″.

Step 3: Place one side of hook and loop to right side of one of the 23″ x 2.75″ pieces of oilcloth or tablecloth.

Step 4: Align to long edge and clip.

Step 5: Sew around hook and loop.

Step 6: Place opposite hook and loop on the wrong side edge of the matching piece of oilcloth or tablecloth.

Step 7: Clip and sew.

Step 8: Align pieces to close the hook and loop.

Step 9: Place one of the side pieces along the right edge with right sides together. Clip.

Step 17: Clip and sew around perimeter.

Step 18: Lift one side, and insert vinyl webbing curved into a handle shape.

Step 19: Clip at edges.

Step 20: Place the final piece of oilcloth or tablecloth on top.

Step 21: Clip and sew, ensuring you sew across the vinyl webbing that is sandwiched in between.

Fishing Buddies T-Shirt

Fishing Buddies T-Shirt

Updated: Jun 10, 2020

Ready for an adorable project for your kiddos to match Dad?

Hope and Kim Towne made a super cute fishing buddies t-shirt by using the embroidery design off of the “Camping Silhouette” Design CD. After taking the SVG, Kim used Craft N Cut, and the Knockout feature to finalize her look and proceeded to make this masterpiece!

We always recommend using our Embellish T-Shirt Centering Tool for unique vinyl projects like this! To make the design work in your Craft N Cut, you must do the black and white vinyl separate, and be super careful lining it up! Pre-press your t-shirt, use the t-shirt centering ruler after your design is to your preference, and press according to your heat press manufactures suggestions. The best part? You can make father-daughter/son t-shirts just in time for Father’s Day! Share with us your creations!

Beach Pillow

Beach Pillow

Updated: Jun 8

To end beach week, we wanted to share this DIY Beach Pillow Project!

With the help of Emily, Sydney, and Beth, we made a fun flamingo pillow case cover! To start this process you will need the following:

  1. Fabric of your choice (we used enough for an 18″ pillow)

  2. Zipper so that you can remove the pillow case and wash it as needed

  3. Embellish Heat Transfer Vinyl

  4. Thread of choice for sewing the pillow

  5. Heat Press

  6. Embellish Weeding tool

  7. Embellish T-Shirt Centering Ruler

After Beth, the Floriani Embroidery Manager, made us our pillow case, we pre-pressed the pillow case, then applied the SVG (which is below for free!) design that was cut on Embellish Heat Transfer Foil, pressed a few times, and tada! That’s all! This is a super easy project that took approximately 30 minutes total.

Beach Ready Accessories!

Beach Ready Accessories!

Updated: Jun 8

We all know that we HAVE to dress adorable for our beach trips! So, why not make our own accessories?

When creating Free Standing Lace Earrings, make sure that the design you have chosen is designed to be free standing lace, if it is not, you can still use it however you will need to use a piece of organza to support the stitches.

Choose your thread colors, I chose Floriani 40 weight thread for the top and bobbin. Hoop 2 layers Floriani Wet N Gone or Embellish Rinse Away Mesh, load your design into you machine, and stitch. If you need to add organza, you will hoop it on top of your wet n gone.

Once you design is complete, remove from hoop and trim away as much of the Wet n Gone/ Rinse Away Mesh as you can. To remove the remaining Wet n Gone/ Rinse Away Mesh just rinse it out. If you want your earrings to be a little stiffer, just wet enough to remove it completely from the open spaces. Allow to dry.

Once it is dried add your favorite earring finding and you now have a new pair of earrings!

Here are a few other jewelry creations that Beth made for this amazing collection:
